Yours is Going to Be Healed As Well

Yours is Going to Be Healed As Well is a collection of stories from survivors of the genocide in Rwanda in 1994, 25 years on. The survivors featured in the work take part in counselling groups organised by SURF (Survivors Fund). Each group comprises approximately 20 people and is led by two counsellors. In the groups, the young survivors are encouraged to find in each other the families they have lost.

The title of the project is taken from one survivor’s testimony in a counselling session: “You are going to the hospital, you are suffering from some disease, and after hearing the story of some of the people here who had the same disease, you feel that yours is going to be healed as well.”
